Jamnagar is one of the heritage cities of Gujarat. The island fort in Lakhota lake is a major attraction here. The fort houses a museum where artefacts, sculptures and weaponry from the 9th to 18th century are displayed. Another major tourist attraction is the Ram Naam Prayer which is being continuously chanted since 1964 at the Bala Hanuman Temple. Jamnagar also has a wildlife sanctuary nearby, making the city an ideal tourist centre.
